HAWAIKI NUI VA’A
The Hawaiki Nui Va’a is an international competition of Polynesian pirogues (called va’a) which gathers in end of October- Beginning of November more than a hundred pirogues starting from Huahine, in the Leeward Islands. The Hawaiki Nui Va’a is, without a doubt, the most difficult V6 pirogue race in the world with its 126 km in three days. The race takes place in three stages without crew change on the high seas and in the lagoon between Huahine-Raiatea / Raiatea-Taha’a and Taha’a-Bora Bora.
