Getting Around Raiatea
Both Raiatea and Taha’a have a few taxis, and Raiatea operates the public transit system, Le Truck, with daily routes from outlying villages to the main towns on each island. The circle-island and interior roads are best explored through hired excursion or by renting a car. To explore the lagoon or the private motu surrounding the islands, choose among motorboat, sailboat, or outrigger canoe rentals. Yachts ranging from 36 to 51 feet (11 to 16 meters) can also be chartered, with or without captain and crew.
